NEDERLANDS In het jaar 2075 ziet de tienjarige Iris hoe een mysterieuze jongen in een regenboogkleurig pak uit de lucht komt vallen. Zijn naam is Arco. Hij komt uit een verre, bijna perfecte toekomst waar tijdreizen werkelijkheid is. Terwijl Iris hem verborgen houdt voor de buitenwereld, zet ze alles op alles om haar nieuwe vriend te helpen terug te keren naar zijn eigen tijd. Arco is de eerste lange animatiefim van de Franse illustrator en stripmaker Ugo Bienvenue. De film is handgetekend en wordt vergeleken met het werk van Hayao Miyazaki en de science fictiontekeningen van Moebius. Arco film won de prestigieuze Cristal Award voor beste langere animatiefilm op het Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025 en is genomineerd voor de European Film Awards 2026 in drie categorieën: Beste Europese Film, Beste Europese Animatiefilm en de European Young Audience Award. He comes from a distant, almost perfect future where time travel is a reality. While keeping him hidden from the outside world, Iris does everything she can to help her new friend return to his own time. Arco is the first feature-length animated film by French illustrator and comic artist Ugo Bienvenu. The film is hand-drawn and has been compared to the work of Hayao Miyazaki and the science fiction illustrations of Moebius. Arco won the prestigious Cristal Award for Best Feature Film at the 2025 Annecy International Animation Film Festival and is nominated for the 2026 European Film Awards in three categories: Best European Film, Best European Animated Feature, and the European Young Audience Award.
