Eirik is sitting in a chic lobby, waiting for a job interview at a prestigious firm. But the interviewer never shows up.

EIRIK, tapping his feet,

scrolling on his phone,

looking around for someone looking his way.

EIRIK

I’m gonna get a coffee. Do you want one?

He looks around, there’s two other people waiting who look up from their phones.

GIRL 1, uninterested

Oh, no. Thank you.

GIRL 2

Can I get a latte macchiato? With a hazelnut shot?

EIRIK, confused

I think it’s just a machine, no? I’ll see what I can do.

GIRL 2, nodding to a corner with a shining espresso machine, hidden behind a selection of really big indoor plants

No, there’s a coffee corner over there.

EIRIK walks over to the plants, peeks behind them and sees a bored barista on his phone, who does not seem to notice his arrival.

EIRIK

Can I get a latte macchiato with hazel syrup and an espresso? … And, um, do you maybe know whether people are always left to wait for this long, around here? I’ve been here for 35 minutes now.

BARISTA, grinning

And only now you're coming up to me?

EIRIK

I suppose so. Why? Do you know what’s going on here?

EIRIK

I’m here for that interview though.

BARISTA, holding out his hand for a shake

Hi. I’m Jonathan. I'm the head barista here, but I also know something about cloud computing. Welcome to your interview. You’re not winning points for initiative, I fear.

EIRIK, confused

What?

JONATHAN

Yes. How do you transform any cloud if you can’t make a first move? But whatever. You did it. Let’s go up.

JONATHAN starts walking to the elevator, past the two girls, still on their phone.

EIRIK decides to walk after him, still vaguely confused.

EIRIK

I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to keep you waiting, you know. But. What about them?

JONATHAN

They already lost, Eirik. Only one can be the first.
