Schrijver en regisseur Santiago Requejo baseerde de film op een eerdere korte film, die hij in 201 maakte onder de titel Votamos. ENGLISH In an apartment building in the centre of Madrid, the Owners' Association meets to vote on replacing the lift. It is then revealed that one of the owners is going to rent out his flat to a colleague whom he knows is taking medication for mental health issues. This leads to commotion and squabbling, with no one spared. In order to reach a solution, a number of owners make an unusual proposal. Votemos is a sharp and biting comedy about prejudice and tolerance. Writer and director Santiago Requejo based the film on an earlier short film, which he made in 201 under the title Votamos.
