At the heart of the Parisian gay scene, Jim reigns supreme: the ultimate Gym Queen, influencer and object of everyone’s desire. But when Jim is struck down by Heterosis (a bizarre virus that turns gay men straight), his reign comes to an abrupt end. Unfollowed, abandoned and stripped of his status, Jim is left with just one remaining loyal follower: Lucien, a devoted, slight twink with a domineering mother. Together, they embark on an absurd, hilarious quest for a mysterious cure: not only to save Jim, but also to prevent the extinction of the gay community. Jim Queen is a satirical French animated film for adults. The film plays with themes such as identity, self-image, beauty and the influence of social media, without taking itself too seriously. The colourful animation style, quick-witted jokes and visual details make the film a cheerful and energetic viewing experience.
