Amanda en haar stiefvader Martin worstelen met een kwestie die hen recht tegenover elkaar plaatst. Heeft Amanda's moeder Leslie, die lijdt aan gevorderde dementie, het vermogen verloren om beslissingen te nemen in haar eigen belang? En wie draagt daar dan de verantwoordelijkheid voor - een echtgenoot, een kind, een instelling? Terwijl Amanda en Martin steeds moeilijkere keuzes moeten maken, raken de gevolgen buiten hun controle. Has Amanda's mother Leslie, now suffering from advanced dementia, lost the ability to make decisions in her own best interest - and if so, who has the right to decide for her: a spouse, a child, an institution? As Amanda and Martin are pushed toward increasingly impossible choices, the consequences spiral far beyond their control. Premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale).
