Power To The People: John & Yoko Live in NYC is een concertfilm met beelden van twee liveoptredens van John Lennon en Yoko Ono in Madison Square Garden, New York, op 30 augustus 1972. De film is opnieuw gemonteerd, gerestaureerd en geremixt. Het waren de enige volledige concerten die John Lennon gaf nadat hij The Beatles had verlaten. Oorspronkelijk gefilmd door multicamera-regisseur Steve Gebhardt in 1972, is deze nieuwe versie geregisseerd door Simon Hilton, gemonteerd door Ben Wainwright-Pearce en geproduceerd door Peter Worsley en Sean Ono Lennon. De muziekproductie was in handen van Sean Ono Lennon. Tot de hits die worden uitgevoerd behoren Johns ‘New York City’, ‘Instant Karma!’, ‘Imagine’ en ‘Mother’, Yoko's ‘Don't Worry Kyoko’ en ‘Open Your Box’, opzwepende vertolkingen van ‘Come Together’ en ‘Hound Dog’, en als toegift ‘Give Peace a Chance’ met speciale gasten als Stevie Wonder, Melanie en vele anderen. * * * Power To The People: John & Yoko Live in NYC is a concert film featuring footage of two live performances by John Lennon and Yoko Ono at Madison Square Garden, New York, on 30 August 1972. The film has been re-edited, restored and remixed. These were the only full concerts John Lennon gave after leaving The Beatles. Originally filmed by multi-camera director Steve Gebhardt in 1972, this new version is directed by Simon Hilton, edited by Ben Wainwright-Pearce and produced by Peter Worsley and Sean Ono Lennon. Sean Ono Lennon was in charge of the music production. Among the hits performed are John’s ‘New York City’, ‘Instant Karma!’, ‘Imagine’ and ‘Mother’, Yoko’s ‘Don’t Worry Kyoko’ and ‘Open Your Box’, rousing renditions of ‘Come Together’ and ‘Hound Dog’, and, as an encore, ‘Give Peace a Chance’ featuring special guests such as Stevie Wonder, Melanie and many others.
